Cup of Tea for a Cold

Note:
This week I had “that virus that everyone else has had”…  sore throat, runny nose, funny tummy, fever, muscle aches. BLERG!
So I whipped up a big jug of tea with fresh herbs and it made me feel SO much better!

Ingredients:
1 litre of boiling water
1-2 stems of peppermint or mint (Moroccan mint is also great)
1 sprig of rosemary
1 sprig of thyme
1 small knob of ginger, finely sliced
1 squeeze of fresh lemon
1 dessert spoon of honey

Why these ingredients:
Peppermint – helps digestion, eases nausea, helps clear nasal congestion
Rosemary –  helps with digestion, fights infection
Thyme – good for coughs and general aches and pains
Ginger – helps with digestion, eases nausea, fights infection
Lemon – Vitamin C, fights infection
Honey –  fights infection and soothes the throat

(Consult your doctor before drinking these herbs if you are pregnant or suffer from high blood pressure, hypertension or insomnia).

Kudos:
An original for Vegematarian.
